ZERO NEWS - 6/07/2006

Black Box Distribution is proud to announce the addition of professional skateboarder Elissa Steamer to the Zero team. Since her debut part, in the 1996 video “Welcome to Hell”, Elissa has proven herself time and time again.

Elissa currently resides in San Francisco and will be traveling non-stop while filming for a Zero promo video as well as the upcoming Etnies video. The release date of Elissa’s first Zero pro model board has yet to be determined.

Jamie Thomas says of the addition; “Elissa’s raw approach to life and skateboarding is a perfect fit for Zero. It’s like a reunion of sorts, I enjoyed working with her when filming “Welcome to Hell” and I’m psyched to get the chance to work with her again. I think she’s the raddest girl to ever ride a skateboard.”

Look for updates and footage of Elissa on Zeroskateboards.com.

The 2006 Zero Team is: Jamie Thomas, Chris Cole, John Rattray, Jon Allie, James Brockman, Tommy Sandoval, Tony Cervantes, Garret Hill, Sheldon Meleshinski, Keegan Sauder, Ben Gilley and Elissa Steamer.

ZERO NEWS - 3/12/2006

BEN GILLEY
Zero is proud to announce the addition of Ben Gilley to the team. With his unmistakable style of skating, Ben is a perfect addition to the Zero family. Gilley has released amazing video parts since his pro debut in 2001, with his most recent being the 2005 independent release of "Reason To Belive".

Jamie Thomas says of the addition, "Ben epitomizes the heart and determination that Zero was founded on. I find his raw skate style an inspiration and a perfect fit for Zero."

Ben added, "I've always felt like an unofficial Zero team rider because I'm friends with everyone at Zero and Black Box. I was packing boxes for Zero a few years ago and now I'm on the team... It's amazing.

ZERO NEWS

The ZERO NEW BLOOD Video is in stores now.

JAMIE THOMAS
Over the first part of this year Jamie has worked relentlessly producing and editing the Zero New Blood Video.  After the video deadlines were met he took some time off to spend with his wife, son, and mom who was visiting from Alabama.  Jamie has now shifted his sights on filming for the Fallen video.  The Fallen team has planned a number of filming trips starting with a trip to Utah and Colorado. Check www.fallenfootwear.com for some photos and info about the tour.  Aside from skating, Chief has been busy working closely with the art department at Black Box designing new graphics for Zero as well as designing new footwear and apparel for Fallen.

CHRIS COLE
Chris Cole just earned someone’s yearly salary ($32,000) in two days by winning the DC Skate Plaza contest.  Congratulations!  All his blood, sweat, and tears paid off with the last part for the New Blood video. Check out his Milestone in the June issue of theSkateboardMAG and a Week in the Life in the June issue of SLAP (all shot during the final week leading up to the New Blood deadline).  After the European tour in May he is already working hard for the Fallen video and is also testing samples of his upcoming pro model shoe on FALLEN, to be released Holiday 2005.  Stay up to date by visiting www.fallenfootwear.com.

JOHN RATTRAY
John was the first to finish his part for New Blood after a Knee injury and a broken collarbone sidelined him from any last minute action.  After several hundred cups of tea and some recovery time at home in Encinitas with his wife, Rattray is up and ripping once again.  John’s been skating a lot with his visiting friends from Scotland and is currently working on a Interview for Transworld.  In classic European form, John manages to mix business with pleasure by somehow finding ways to live life to the fullest.  He recently went on a skate trip to Arizona with Rowley, Arto, and photographer Scott Pommier.  After getting a couple photos he flew his wife out, and along with Arto and his friend Glenn, camped at what’s rumored to be the most epic camping locations on an Indian Reservation near the Grand Canyon.  By the looks of things, John really enjoyed the recent Zero / Mystery European tour and got the chance to hang out with many of his friends from back home.  After a short Osiris filming tour of the Southwest, he’s peacing out of his Encinitas bungalow and heading to Scotland to shred before embarking on THRASHER Magazine’s KING OF THE ROAD in August.

JON ALLIE
Allie opened up the New Blood video with another exciting video part. Jon has since been busy splitting time between skating with Lee Dupont for the Circa video, and constant tinkering on one of his Chevy Novas.  I say one of his Novas because at a recent car show his plan was to buy parts for his car, instead he spontaneously bought another Nova.  Allie’s a gearhead, in the last year he has become quite the mechanic, he’s been swapping out transmissions and installing new engines in his Novas.  He keeps saying he’s gonna get rid of most of his five cars but we’ll believe it when we see it.  Oh yeah, somewhere in between all the buying and selling he bout a vintage Russian WWII motorcycle with a sidecar and a Yamaha dirtbike.

GARRETT HILL
Garrett’s first video part showcases his smooth and relaxed style.  Garrett disappeared for a bit after the video premier due to a sprained ankle that he experienced about a week before the video deadline.  Garrett’s used the down time to catch up on a heaping amount of home-study packets.  The days of taking the Amtrak to SD are over since he finally got his license and a car to go with it. He’s been driving down to SD every couple of weeks. Shortly after he signed up to the Osiris roster, he went on an Osiris filming trip to the Southwest with teammates Rattray and Brockman. Being the true Harry Potter nerd he is, we're positive he's deep in the sixth book that just came out.

TOMMY SANDOVAL
Tommy moved out of the Zero house and back to Chula Vista a few months shy of the New Blood Deadline.  Chula Vista is where Tommy’s from and where his homies and his heart is.  Read all about it in Tommy’s NEW JACK found in the May issue of TheSkateboardMAG.  To make the trek up to Black Box, Tommy bought a heavily oxidized ’92 Cadillac Deville.  Tommy’s a baller, Chula style.  No word yet if he’s gonna buy some Dubs with his $5,000 in prize money from the DC Plaza contest.  After nailing a solid part, Tommy’s been relaxing down south before heading out on several Fallen Filming Trips.  Read more about Die Trying as he babbles in a drunken state in his TWS Am issue interview.

TONY CERVANTES
Tony Cervantes has been on Zero flow for over a year now and came out with a completely unique video part in the NEW BLOOD video.  Tony is 16 years old and hails from Whittier, CA. He is the most fantastically spontaneous, random kid you’ll ever meet. Look for photos of Tony in the June issue of THRASHER as well as the TWS Am Issue.  Welcome to the team Tony!

JAMES BROCKMAN
Brockman nabbed the March cover of SKATEBOARDER Magazine with a front board down big white and came up on a free laptop, compliments of the Osiris team manager.  In his typical antisocial fashion James still doesn’t have an email address.  After a quite a bit of coverage and a gnarly part in the New Blood video, Brockman continues to shred as he's working on a Thrasher interview.  Also check out Brockman’s top five in the TWS Am Issue. Finally, Congratulations to James Brockman as he has officially entered the world of Professional skateboarding. Look for his Shallow Grave board and his Spider web board to be in stores soon. Also see his poster in the next issue of Transworld.
